Benefits of Boxing

Boxing is the best type of workout. (In my humble opinion). Here are just some of the benefits:

  • Toning your arms and legs
  • Strengthening your core and back muscles
  • Improving your balance
  • Improving your hand-eye coordination
  • Kicking your cardio into hyperdrive
  • Actually having fun working out

At our gym (Box IQ) here in south Florida we provide cardio boxing classes. When it comes to working out, the options seem to be infinite. I think that's a great thing, simply because different approaches work for different people. Additionally just because something works doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy it, so this makes the multitude of options a blessing. I personally have never been a huge fan of the traditional gym. I’ve made progress throughout the years with respect to increasing my strength in a regular gym however punching stuff has always just been way more fun. Boxing just checks off so many boxes for me. (see what i did there?) You’re using your entire body, and challenging your mind by having to process a lot of information in a short amount of time. Just like most workouts boxing is completely scalable to any age and fitness level. I should also add that at my gym we mostly promote boxing primarily for fitness, so it doesn’t include sparring. You can enjoy all the benefits of learning how to box without the added risk that comes with getting hit. I personally enjoy sparring as do many of our clients however It’s a replaceable component.
